The Leon Bridges album is out today. Buy it or stream it from your service of choice. I will tell you that it just doesn't feel right streaming it. I went so far as to text my dad to see if he still has a record player because I so desperately want to listen to this on vinyl. Until then, I'll be streaming on repeat.
First we celebrated Jenny's bday with our dear friends!
Apologies for all of the iphone pics in this post. I forgot my big camera. oops. #bloggerprobs
Then we celebrated Father's Day!
My parents came to Raleigh and we took my dad bowling at Kings.
Needless to say mom and I should brush up on our bowling skillz and everyone should learn to spell my name. But we had fun!
My friend Lara Casey is doing a series over the summer called #FruitfulSummer about cultivating friendship. I've been a "fan" of Lara's for a long time, but being able to call her a friend has been such a blessing. You always leave feeling challenged, encouraged, and loved.
Lara's story is amazing and the way she has made a choice to invest in people and relationships is something we can all learn from. So join Lara and friends for #FruitfulSummer by clicking the link here. This will send weekly updates directly to your inbox. Here are weeks one and two if you need to catch up. Week 3 was released yesterday and SPOILER ALERT: I'm in the video!
I attended the IF Gathering this past year where I met these great ladies. We've shared our successes, failures, fears, and prayers. These women probably know more about my heart than most people and I haven't even known most of them a year. Being intentional and making time matters. I'm definitely not always good at that and I love my "me" time more than anyone, like seriously. But stepping out of my comfort zone and into a stranger's living room is one of the best things I've ever done.
First of all, sorry I've been super lax over here. The past couple weeks have been crazy and I'm going to be better. The other reason being I've mostly been dead since I first heard Leon Bridges. Listen and live. His new album comes out June 23rd. Get that.
Father's day is next Sunday, so if you don't want to pay extra for shipping, get your shop on.
My brother from another mother has just started a business called The Sportsmans Box, which would make the PERFECT Father's Day gift for the hunting and fishing dad in your life.
Think Birchbox for sporting men.
This next one is the obvious choice if you have a dad who hasn't ever called you to ask how to send a text.
If dad needs to update his wardrobe, you can go to bonobos.com, close your eyes and click.
Last but not least, for the dad who's hungry. I'm recently obsessed with this website called Goldbely.
It's an online food delivery service that has combined your favorite foods from well known eateries across the US as well as sauces, drinks, and most importantly sweets. They have everything from Momofuku Milkbar to Katz Deli to tons of BBQ and even Cheerwine. Check it out.
I kind of think this is awesome.
Emily Skeggs in Christian Siriano.
Vanessa Hudgens in Naeem Khan.
I always love a good Anna Wintour moment.
